Annual Planner for Google Sheets
Google Sheets are an amazing web app that allows real time editing from multiple users. This makes it great for collaboration, since everyone can see changes others made, their history, comments and so forth. Forget about sending files back and forth over email, or having corrupt files in your Dropbox – Google Sheets (actually the whole Google Docs) makes collaboration a breeze. Besides it is completely FREE!
Google Docs also have the iPad versions of the apps, which you can use both online and offline to edit the data when on the field or generally off the desktop computer. You can collect and store monitoring data in Google Sheets from multiple users, and also sync it with PowerBI for analysis and visualization. This is a great combo and something I will write about in the very near future. Unfortunately, some clubs still don’t use shared calendars to begin with. All this is very easy to setup and since it is free, all you need is a good will.
Anyway, I decided to upload and modify Annual Planner for Sports to the Google Sheets to allow easier collaboration, as opposed to sharing the Excel file, either through email or Dropbox. Please note that this is a “strip-down” version without any analytics whatsoever, but it is more than good enough for creating a flexible annual plan and a sessions calendar.
To get a glimpse of its simplicity, flexibility and power please take a look at the short video below.
