In this article, we dive into the LEVsim Theoretical Load Exertion Velocity Model and its application in training. Discover how this model can help coaches and athletes optimize their training programs and improve performance.

  • {LEVsim}: Theoretical Load-Exertion-Velocity Model – Part 1: Resistance Training Phenomena

    By Mladen Jovanovic on 22/03/2023

Resistance training prescription can be conceptualized from the dose perspective. The dose is a complex construct, but for the purpose of this article series, I will define it using the four interdependent components: (1) intensity, (2) volume, (3) density, and (4) other.

  • Reps at 80% 1RM? Can They Be Useful for Individualizing Reps-Max Table?

    By Mladen Jovanovic on 27/02/2023

The more weight you put on the bar, the less reps you are able to do. This is common knowledge and a phenomenon we want to describe, predict and intervene upon. However, this relationship tends to differ between individuals and exercises.

  • Published Paper on Bias in Sprint Modeling

    By Mladen Jovanovic on 01/02/2023

I am happy to announce that my pre-print paper “Bias in estimated short sprint profiles using timing gates due to the flying start” has been published in Computer Methods in Biomechanics and Biomedical Engineering. This publication is my last requirement for publishing and defending my Ph.D. thesis. Hopefully, finishing everything during the first half of this year.

  • Managing Athletes Using Trello – Part 1

  • Managing the Team Using a Simple Visual Board

    By Mladen Jovanovic on 09/01/2023

The recent developments and increased affordability of technology in sports created a certain belief that teams must collect and analyze a tremendous amount of data to monitor and manage their athletes. This involves, but is not limited to, GPS and positional data, morning wellness and heart-rate variability (HRV), blood analysis, jump analysis, movement screens, sleep patterns, and game analyses.
