Set and Rep Schemes – Part 1: Introduction

There are numerous ways to classify set and rep schemes. I have identified a few different types of classification (see image below). In this module, I will focus on the “methodological” classification, although I will quickly cover other types of classifications as well.

In Strength Training Manual, I have “identified” around 12 “archetypal” schemes (probably less, since some are variants on combinations) and will cover them in this module. When combined with different Vertical Planning approaches (and maybe even with horizontal), it is easy to reach thousands of combinations (see accompanying Set and Rep Scheme Reference Tables).

In this first video of this module, I will introduce these “archetypal” schemes and go through each of those in the following videos.
