Estimation and Individualization – Part 6: {STMr}

In this video, I will show you how to use {STMr} estimate functions (start with estimate_). There are two major families of the estimate_ functions:

  • relative, using %1RM
  • absolute, using weight (in which the 1RM is also estimated). These will have _1RM at the end.

In addition to this, we have:

  • “simple” estimation
  • mixed level
  • quantile

This is, of course, implemented for Epley, Modified Epley, and Linear/Brzycki models.

In addition to this, there is estimate_rolling_1RM() that can take “simple” and quantile functions as a parameter to produce rolling estimates.

I will utilize two datasets to demonstrate these features: RTF_testing and strength_training_log.
