Introduction – Part 3: Progression vs Adaptation (Visualized)
In the video below, I am applying introduced 3 constructs (Manifestable 1RM, Prescription 1RM, and Load 1RM) in a few “sandbox” examples to demonstrate different progressions and problems we might face in the “wilderness”. The objective of using a percent-based prescription is to give us a useful “tool”, rather than “truth”.
In this lecture, concepts such as Push vs. Pull and Explore vs. Exploit will be more apparent. In addition to this, the utility of (auto-) regulatory methods (e.g., using subjective ratings or a velocity-based approach) will be appreciated as a “compliment” to the percent-based approach.
