It should be clear by now that for planning of the strength training cycle, we are using 1RMs as something that helps us with prescription, and not something to argue about until cows come home.

This was a great read Mladen. It has provided me with some concepts to use that I was struggling with in my programming. These concepts will allow me to keep my athletes/gen pop in a good state of pull mode ;).

what kind of athletes are you dealing with Aaron ?

Im interested in finding out more about hypertrophy for athletes but am unsure where to start digging.

The forums seem a bit quiet but hopefully we can get some regular talk going amongst people

Hi Estevan! Agreed some regular chat is much needed, all of us just geek out to ourselves crying into a bottle lol
I have a high performance facility in Perth and work on the European and Australian golf tours. Main clientele are golfers but we have really branched out this last year to reach many other athletes from motor sports to team sports.
Mladen’s article gives you some great insight on how to add volume in different manners in my opinion. They all want to train like bodybuilder/powerlifter but they have to remember that its all about how they improve in their chosen sport, I couldn’t care what you saw on FB or insta and no i don’t care whats on the bar ;0

    thanks for the chat 🙂

Thank you guys, appreciate the feedback. Most forums nowadays are dead, since everybody uses social networks or have their own blogs.

Estevan, I have answered your question in the other thread.

When using the Push idea how does the TM potentially decrease if the EDM or CM is going up ? I was thinking if we are using 90% of the EDM as our TM then any increases in TM would result in an increase in our EDM.

Am I thinking too theoretical and not enough practical?

It was more of a theoretical idea, because after the Push block one might struggle to reach their EDM weights without ‘psych up’. So, it might be that during the push phase one increase this ‘gap’ between EDM and CM by being able to psych more, while EDM might suffer due too much stress, etc. This is by no mean a law, just a concept that can be useful sometimes
