There are numerous endurance tests that a strength and conditioning coach (S&C from now on) might use. So many that it is confusing which one to choose and why. For that reason, I decided to write this article: I want to outline my reasoning and rationale when selecting an endurance test.

A few minutes ago i saw on facebook that the german bundesliga team fc augsburg starting the pre-season with a 400m peep test (lactate measuring) on a running track. A friend of mine is playing in a bundesliga team in austria and they are also starting the pre-season with a 400m peep test. I´m sure that there a more soccer teams testing this way. Have you an idea why so much teams testing this way?
