Lesson 6: Strategy Combinations

In my opinion, periodization strategies such as linear, undulating, block, and polarized represent archetypes that one combines in real-life scenarios. For example, one might select a linear strategy for the upper body main movements and polarized strategy for the lower body movements.

In this video, Mike Tuchscherer explains the point of strategy combinations: to create a blend of strategies with specific strengths and weaknesses matched to the athlete’s needs.

The following pictures depict the pros and cons of various strategies combinations covered in this lecture.

In this lecture Mike Tuchscherer provides more food for thought and context analysis when applying different planning strategies into a sound training program.
